The selection of levels takes place on a global map, designed in isometry. During contractions, the camera is located on the side. The aliens are able to run, jump, shoot, somersault in the air, and slow down their fall. They are also trained to do rolls, sit on opponents’ heads, throw up and throw enemies, throw grenades, pick up and activate objects. As the game progresses, these creatures will learn to mutate into more developed individuals.
Alien Hominid Invasion has 3 difficulty modes: Friendly, Normal, Insane. They differ in the amount of health available from the start. If the HP bar goes to zero, 1 life will be taken away. Each user (and the cooperative here supports up to 4 people) can individually make the passage easier or more difficult for themselves.
Guests from another planet gradually unlock new weapons and receive upgrades. You are allowed to change equipment between missions. You can also change the appearance there. There is a lot of customization here. You have to fight with people and drones. Boss fights are also present. The combat system is based on performing combo attacks and is reminiscent of slashers in the scoring mechanics.
