STAR WARS: Dark Forces Remaster

Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster offers to play the role of Kyle Katarn, a former Imperial mercenary who became an agent of the Rebels. Katarn is sent on a mission to expose the Empire’s secret project «Dark Troopers» – a new breed of stormtroopers designed to strengthen the Empire’s power in the galaxy. Gamers navigate 14 classic Star Wars locations, using their dexterity to solve puzzles and destroy enemies. A helpful digital assistant provides important information: maps, inventory, and mission objectives. Players engage in intense first-person combat using ten weapons against over twenty enemy types.

In addition to the traditional selection of various blasters, gamers use fist fights, explosive devices and thermal detonators to overcome obstacles and enemies. Power-ups are scattered throughout, replenishing health, shields and ammo, keeping players on their toes. Released in 1995, Star Wars: Dark Forces was a groundbreaking first-person shooter game, praised for its fast-paced action, items and power-ups, and immersive environments. The remaster retained the core gameplay, but greatly improved the visuals, performance, and controller support.

The remaster features increased graphics resolution and frame rates, delivering smoother, more vibrant visuals. Advanced 3D rendering improves lighting and atmospheric effects, further immersing players in the Star Wars universe. A modern gamepad supports a weapon control wheel and a «rumble» function, which makes the game more intuitive and fun.
