Shanghai Summer

Shanghai Summer takes players on a journey through the bustling metropolis of Shanghai in 2003. Protagonist Baichuan encounters a series of strange occurrences called «anomalies» that blur the lines between reality and memory. Driven by a desire to correct past mistakes, he embarks on a twelve-day trek in search of answers. The narrative unfolds through interactions with a diverse cast of characters, each struggling with their own problems. Interwoven into the story of Baichuan are the artist Fengyi, the troubled student Xiaobo, and the university student Jingxian, burdened with family troubles. Despite difficulties, they persevere, cherishing experiences and overcoming regrets.

Gameplay revolves around collecting «themes» and «clues» collected from everyday life. Players delve into the minds and hearts of their companions, seeking comfort, inspiration, and strength. The culmination of this journey comes on the twelfth night and has the power to mend a broken dream. The action of «Shanghai Summer» takes place in a familiar setting – in classrooms, cozy cafes and the iconic What-If bookstore. In these ordinary spaces lie extraordinary possibilities.
