Democracy 4

Democracy 4 – a strategic sandbox simulator of state management in the role of the president or minister of a certain department. The player is given maximum freedom of action due to the non-linearity of the gameplay, which involves a huge number of outcomes based on the various actions of the gamer. It is impossible to get two identical saves due to random events, random generation of the character of people living on the territory of a controlled state, and many other facts that completely exclude this possibility. The project was developed by an indie team of enthusiasts who spent the greatest amount of time balancing all the possible branches of upgrading their own state, so that an easy victory could not be achieved.

The main task of the user in single-player mode is to follow the chosen development strategy, finding the fine line between the unprecedented growth of the economy or individual industries, and the mood of voters. The game will be over if the virtual protégé loses the presidential election and leaves his seat once and for all. It is important to remember the main condition – you will never be able to please absolutely everyone. Some groups of the population will have to be sacrificed to achieve goals. By pumping up special development branches and fulfilling special conditions, the gamer moves towards greatness, but receives a new portion of difficulties in other areas.

Thanks to the open source code of the engine on which this project is built, the developers have opened the way for fan additions and modifications in completely different directions. This attitude to creativity from fans of the franchise is the basis for all games in the series, released under the name “Democracy”.
