Gloomwood

Gloomwood is not just a first-person indie horror game. The game offers survival in an open world. The project has stealth elements. The title boasts a sophisticated sound system that believably spreads noise as the user moves. Gloomwood takes gamers to a gothic city in which the Victorian era and steampunk are intertwined. The user explores it freely, choosing their own paths. The protagonist was kidnapped and transported to a gloomy metropolis, whose inhabitants mysteriously disappeared somewhere. Instead of them, monsters now roam the streets.

The hero can sneak, attack from behind, climb walls along ledges and jump from roofs onto the heads of unsuspecting humanoid monsters. You can pick up objects and throw them, distracting the attention of enemies. Breaking windows serves the same purpose, allowing one to break into empty houses at the same time. Weapons include a cane with a spike at the end, a rapier, a folding shotgun, a six-shooter revolver, and a harpoon gun. The character carries his arsenal and useful things in his bag. There is inventory management. If you use a one-handed weapon, you can take a flashlight in your free hand. It is possible not only to swing the doors open, but also to carefully open them to study the situation through the crack. The game also allows you to peek around corners.
