King Arthur: Legion IX

King Arthur: Legion IX is a combination of turn-based tactical combat and character-focused RPG mechanics. Players take on the role of Gaius Julius Mento, a Roman tribune leading the undead Ninth Legion through the fantasy realm of Avalon. This dark fantasy with Arthurian elements welcomes newcomers with a fresh narrative and characters, while offering a familiar world with a new twist to those experienced. A long-lost Roman legion, notorious for its cruelty, appears on a mystical island. Guy, their disgraced commander, seeks salvation from the underworld granted to him by the late emperor. However, their arrival in the domain of the Lady of the Lake creates a threat. Gaius intends to conquer Avalon and found a new Rome, but first he must reunite his scattered legion.

The King Arthur campaign takes place from the Roman point of view, as Gaius embarks on a journey through the mysteries of Avalon. Players encounter nightmarish creatures, Pictish tribes, monstrous Fomorians and treacherous Sidhe. The story explores the clash between the Old Faith and Christianity, culminating in confrontations with Sir Mordred’s knights in 15 hand-crafted missions. Gamers restore and defend the remains of the only Roman colony on Avalon, while charting their own path to victory. By the end of the campaign, a decisive choice must be made: succumb to demonic power or reject the influence of the emperor and return to humanity.
