Mato Anomalies transports players to Mato. This is the name of the ancient neo-futuristic city. According to the plot, strange incidents began to occur in this metropolis. Several factions are involved in them. And the settlement began to be threatened by demonic creatures. The story follows the adventures of private detective Doe and an exorcist named Graham. They investigate unusual incidents, battle demons in the rifts between worlds, and try to save a populated area from destruction. As the narrative progresses, the partners meet allies. As a result, a team of 4 people is formed. The plot raises themes such as hope, justice, duty. The non-linear storyline has multiple endings.

The Mato Anomalies is a mixture of Japanese role-playing game and visual novel. It uses a cyberpunk setting. The graphics in this project combine 2D and 3D. It is stylized like anime. There are two protagonists in this JRPG. While one walks around the city, chats with NPCs, takes on side quests, looks into shops and collects evidence, the second runs around a parallel dimension and fights with creatures. There are also episodes of mind hacking. They are served in a card video game format. In addition, there are full-fledged battles. The battles here take place in a step-by-step mode. In them, the health scale is evenly distributed among all members of the squad. There is also dungeon exploration. Dungeons represent the worlds of the characters that the heroes are trying to stop or save. They are reminiscent of the palaces from Persona 5. In these dungeons, in addition to fighting monsters, you need to explore the area and solve puzzles.
