Return to abyss is a simplified top-down action roguelike with 2D hand-drawn anime-style graphics. There are quite a large number of opponents in this game. According to the developers, there can be more than 10,000 enemies on the screen at the same time. They are represented by skeletons, demons, cybernetic soldiers and other creatures. These adversaries mainly move towards the main character and try to attack close. They are trying to crush the heroine with numbers. The protagonist herself is a resurrected spirit. On behalf of the God of Chaos, she needs to descend into the abyss occupied by monsters and deal with the culprit who caused a commotion there.

RTA emulates Vampire Survivors and the clones of this iconic video game. As in VS, the warrior attacks her opponents herself. The player is allowed to move his player around the field and set directions for shots. As in the original, here you need to collect spheres of experience that fall out of killed monsters. With sufficient accumulation of experience, the level increases. For each level, they give you the opportunity to choose a weapon or an upgrade for it. The type and frequency of attacks, damage dealt, and so on depend on the equipment. A lady can carry a maximum of 4 deadly items at a time. But each of them can be upgraded in 6 different ways. In total, this title has 12 types of weapons, 15 special drinks, 23 upgradeable items, 25 accessories and 72 artifacts. All this variety of equipment makes it possible to build various builds.
