Rival Megagun

Rival Megagun – top-down shoot’em’up action game with vertical gameplay. The main emphasis is on the cooperative game mode on one personal computer monitor, because most of the mechanics are designed to maximize the variety of confrontation between two gamers. Everything is done in retro style using sound recorded using an electronic synthesizer.

The plot is quite simple and is presented through small cut scenes made in the style of Japanese comics. In the distant future, when humanity has made a huge technological leap, and spaceships or futuristic fighters can no longer surprise anyone, a new reality show was invented. It was a battle between several airship pilots who had to earn points and do it better than their opponent. All this is broadcast live for television broadcast.

The gamer can choose from several playable characters with unique ships and sets of weapons. A feature of the game is a split screen, half for each participant in the competition, which can interfere with each other, sending enemies or becoming a mega-ship that attacks another gamer in an attempt to destroy him. This can be done after gaining a certain number of points.
