Unicorn Overlord: Monarch Edition

Unicorn Overlord: Monarch Edition players will take on the role of Alain, a deposed prince leading a rebellion. Throughout the fantasy land, Fevrite Alain commands an army of liberation, ruling over cities, merchants, and battles. The exploration takes place on the world map, while enemy forces patrol disputed territories. The game combines tactical RPG elements and world exploration. In cities you can replenish supplies, form alliances and complete side quests. Players strategically place units on battle areas, and resources determine the number of troops. The overworld provides some freedom in problem solving, while the cities offer additional challenge and character development.

The battles themselves are a mixture of troop movements across vast landscapes and skirmishes between units. Real-time combat allows you to pause to make strategic adjustments. Squads consist of six characters, each of whom has their own role. Early party size restrictions are lifted as players progress. The environments range from open fields to cityscapes, which influence the gameplay. The placement of characters on the grid determines their abilities and effectiveness. Some classes specialize in melee or ranged attacks, while others have a wider range or unique skills. Automatic battles unfold depending on the characteristics of the characters and the given behavior, ending when one of the sides falls or the action points are exhausted. Difficulty options cater to different player preferences, and there’s a separate online multiplayer arena for those who want to compete outside of the main campaign.
